Cemetery Tour of Westbrook Civil War Soldiers’ Gravestones
This tour of the “Lower Cemetery” (South Main Street Cemetery) will point out the gravestones and tell stories of many of Westbrook’s men who served in the Civil War. Public invited. No cost.

Westbrook Historical Society will join other Connecticut historical societies in welcoming people around the state as part of Connecticut’s Open House Day. We will be opening our two museums and will be offering our history book, Westbrook History, Happenings, and Hearsay, at a discount price. Public invited. No cost.

Reenactment of “Professor Jim” Williams
Kevin Johnson of the Connecticut State Library will portray “Professor Jim” Williams. “Professor Jim” was a beloved and respected man who spent fifty years at Trinity College as a janitor, after escaping from enslavement, sailing the high seas, and serving in the war of 1812. Public invited. No cost.
LOCATION: Community Room in Westbrook Public Library.
